A Real-World Writing Journey — For the Doubters, the Overthinkers, the Ones Who Keep Showing Up

About The Writer Page

I’m Paige Tipton, and if you’re looking for someone who made millions blogging or built a viral brand overnight, that’s not my story. My journey into writing started with a love for words, a lot of late nights, and a healthy dose of inspiration from Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. I used to dream about the glamorous, effortless writer’s life: champagne launches, instant recognition, the kind of freedom you see on Instagram.

What I’ve actually built is very different—and so much more valuable. It’s real, grounded, and practical. It’s built from mistakes, rewrites, dead ends, and breakthroughs. And most importantly, it’s something anyone can create if they’re willing to learn, experiment, and put in the work. This is the side of writing no one talks about: the messy, complicated, but completely possible path to making words into something that matters—not just to you, but to the people who need to read them.

My Story: Forced to Start Over — How Writing Became My Lifeline

I didn’t have a roadmap, and I certainly didn’t have a pile of cash to invest. I was a mom juggling hospital shifts, college classes, and the everyday chaos of family life. Writing was my escape and, eventually, my path forward. My first website was a mess (thanks, Wix), but it was a start. I learned by doing—writing about shopping hacks, pitching clients on Fiverr and Upwork, and slowly figuring out what actually works in content marketing and freelance writing.

When the pandemic hit, like so many others, I found myself at home, jobless, and unsure what came next. That’s when I doubled down: I learned everything I could about writing online, tried every side hustle, and kept building my portfolio. Eventually, my experience landed me a job in marketing at an agency, where I finally saw how content really drives business and what clients actually want.

The Journey Continues

This work has given me the freedom to create a life I truly enjoy. I get to homeschool my children, cheer them on at baseball practices and games, and even serve as a board member for our local little league—where I also manage their social media and create content. It’s not glamorous, but it’s meaningful, flexible, and allows me to do what I love every day while being present for my family.

I’m grateful for this path, and I hope what I share here helps you carve out your own version of a writing life that fits you.

Why I Built TheWriterPage.com

I created this site because I know how overwhelming it can feel to start from scratch. I’ve been there—wondering if my writing was good enough, figuring out how to pitch clients, and learning how to actually make money as a writer. I want to share what I’ve learned (and what I’m still learning) so you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Here, you’ll find:

Live Editing Videos

Where you can see my real process, mistakes and all.

My live editing videos are a behind-the-scenes look at how real writing gets done—mistakes, rewrites, and all. I started these videos because I know how frustrating it can be to read polished writing advice without ever seeing the messy, honest process that leads to a finished piece.

Step-By-Step Guides

For writing in different niches—whether you’re into blogging, copywriting, content marketing, or just want to get paid for your words.

My guides are designed to be practical, step-by-step resources for writers at any stage—whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills in a specific niche. I created these guides because I know how overwhelming it can be to sift through scattered advice online, especially when you just want clear answers and real-world examples.

Tools To Make You A Better Writer

You’ll find tools, templates, and resources I actually use.

Submit Your Own Work For Me To Review

Submit your own work to receive honest, constructive feedback—not just a pat on the back.

One of the most valuable ways to grow as a writer is to get honest, constructive feedback on your own work. That’s why I offer a unique opportunity for you to submit your writing—whether it’s blog posts, articles, or other content—for a detailed review and live editing.

Actionable Skills You Can Apply Today

No hype, no shortcuts—just real advice from someone who’s still in the trenches.

If you want to know how to get started on your own writing journey, how to pitch clients to start making money with your writing, or learn how to write content that actually works for your clients, you’re in the right place. I’m still learning every day, and I hope you’ll join me on this journey. You can do this. I believe in you!
